Track Game Progress Change Dates

📋 Summary

Add the ability for LaunchBox to track the date and time when a game’s progress status changes (e.g., from Unplayed → In Progress → Beaten → Completed → Mastered). These timestamps could then be used to sort or filter playlists, view play history, and generate time-based stats.

🎯 Feature Overview

  • LaunchBox automatically logs a timestamp whenever a game’s Progress status changes.

  • New database fields could include:

    • Date Started (when set to In Progress)

    • Date Beaten

    • Date Completed

    • Date Mastered

  • Users could then:

    • Sort or filter playlists by these dates.

    • Create custom playlists (e.g., Games Beaten in 2025).

    • View progress timelines on a per-game or per-platform basis.

    • Generate historical stats like “Games beaten per month” or “Total completions this year.”

🛠 Example Use Cases

  • 🕹 Beaten Playlist – A user creates a playlist of all Beaten games, sorted chronologically by when each game was completed, to revisit their past progress.

  • 📅 Progress Timeline – A “Recently Mastered” view showing games in order of when the user earned 100% completion.

  • 📈 Activity Stats – A dashboard that visualizes user activity over time (e.g., games started or finished each month).

  • 🧩 Cross-Platform Tracking – See which platforms or genres were most played during a specific time period.

📦 Benefits

  • 🧠 Adds valuable historical context to the Game Progress system.

  • 📅 Enables richer analytics and personal achievements tracking.

  • 🎮 Encourages goal-setting and reflection on gaming habits.

  • 🔄 Integrates naturally with RetroAchievements, playtime tracking, and automation rules.

💡 Notes

Future expansions could include a “Progress Journal” view, showing a timeline of all play sessions and status updates, or the ability to export progress history for personal record keeping or social sharing.
