Ensure the Auto-Generate Playlists tool produces a consistent set of playlists (and subplaylists) for every platform, not just Arcade and MS-DOS. Today, platforms like Arcade/MS-DOS include rich subplaylists (e.g., Puzzle → Jigsaw, Board Game → Backgammon), while others (e.g., PlayStation) only get top-level genres.
Standardize the auto-generation logic so all platforms receive:
The same top-level genre playlists (Sports, Shooter, Simulation, etc.).
The same subgenre breakdowns (e.g., Puzzle → Jigsaw; Board Game → Backgammon), when applicable.
Add a simple wizard toggle to include/exclude subgenres per platform.
Respect platform metadata (only generate subgenres that actually exist for that platform’s games).
User generates playlists for Sony PlayStation and expects the same subgenre depth as Arcade/MS-DOS (e.g., Puzzle → Jigsaw).
After standardization, PlayStation receives both the main genres and relevant subgenre playlists—matching the richness seen on Arcade/MS-DOS.
Consistency: Identical playlist structure across platforms improves navigation and expectations.
Discoverability: Deeper subgenre playlists surface niche titles users might miss.
Scalability: Easier to manage, theme, and share playlists across setups.
Subgenres should only generate if supported by the platform’s game metadata, avoiding empty lists.
Consider an option to regenerate/refresh existing auto-playlists to apply the new standardized structure.
