Overview
Currently, in the Platform Categories view, LaunchBox remembers the last view that was open before the app was closed and restores that view upon startup. However, it does not retain the expanded or collapsed state of other sections within the categories. This results in users having to manually expand their preferred sections each time they relaunch the app.
Proposed Enhancement
Enhance LaunchBox to remember which platform categories were expanded when the app was last closed and restore their state upon the next launch. This would improve the user experience by reducing unnecessary repetitive actions and maintaining a more personalized browsing flow.
Expected Behavior
1. When a user expands or collapses a platform category within the Platform Categories view, LaunchBox stores the state of each section.
2. Upon closing and reopening the app, LaunchBox restores the expanded/collapsed state of all previously opened sections.
3. If no manual changes were made to the view before closing, the app continues to function as it does currently (restoring the last opened view).
Benefits
• Reduces friction by maintaining user preferences across sessions.
• Saves time by eliminating the need to manually re-expand frequently used categories.
• Provides a smoother, more customizable experience in browsing platform collections.
Potential Implementation Considerations
• Store the expanded/collapsed state in the user’s local settings file.
• Allow users to optionally disable this behavior if they prefer the current functionality.
