Provide “[None]” as a Filter Option in Quick Filters

📋 Summary

Add the ability to filter for items that have no value assigned in a given field (specifically Region, but applicable to others). This would allow users to easily locate games missing region data, which currently cannot be surfaced through existing quick filter options.

🎯 Feature Overview

Introduce a new filter value: [None] (or Unassigned) within LaunchBox’s Quick Filters menu.

This filter would:

• Display all games where the selected field has no value set

• Work for Region, but also be extendable to other fields such as:

  • Genre

  • Developer / Publisher

  • Release Type

  • Version

  • Platform-specific metadata

• Integrate seamlessly into the existing filter dropdowns

• Display [None] alongside existing values (e.g., Europe, Japan, North America)

🛠 Example Use Case

A user imports a large batch of ROMs intended for a single region, but a few files are missing region metadata.

Currently:

• These games do not appear under any region filter

• There is no built-in way to locate them

• The game count appears incorrect, but the missing entries are invisible

With this feature:

• User selects Region → [None]

• All region-less games appear instantly

• They can quickly bulk edit and assign the correct region

• Prevents games from becoming “lost” due to missing metadata

• Helps maintain accurate library organization

• Improves consistency in bulk import workflows

• Extends naturally to other fields where missing values matter

💡 Notes

• This feature should integrate into both LaunchBox Desktop and Big Box (where applicable).

• [None] should only appear when at least one item actually contains no value for that field, to avoid unnecessary clutter.
