Allow users to choose from all available image groups (e.g. Square, Poster, Banner, etc.) when configuring image views in LaunchBox and Big Box, rather than being limited to the current predefined set.
❗ Problem
LaunchBox currently exposes only a fixed set of image groups for use in the main menu and Big Box image options (such as Box Front, Box 3D, Steam Banner, Clear Logo, etc.).
However, additional image types already exist in the ecosystem (for example Square or Poster), but cannot be selected directly as a primary image group in views.
As a result, users who prefer these formats must rely on workarounds, such as:
Repurposing an existing image group they don’t use (e.g. assigning Square or Poster images to Box – 3D).
Adjusting media priorities in unintuitive ways that don’t clearly reflect how the images are actually being used.
This makes setups harder to understand, maintain, and share.
💡 Proposal
Expose all supported image groups as selectable options in:
LaunchBox main menu image settings
Big Box image view configuration
Allow users to explicitly choose which image groups are used for:
Game lists
Wall views
Menus and platform views
Keep existing defaults unchanged for current users, while enabling advanced customization for those who want it.
🧩 Use Cases
A user prefers Square images for a cleaner, more compact look instead of box art or banners.
A Big Box theme is designed around Poster-style artwork rather than traditional box fronts.
Theme creators want more flexibility without needing to “hijack” unrelated image groups.
