Overview
This feature would allow users to hide specific playlists or systems behind a PIN, making them invisible until unlocked. This would be particularly useful for parental controls, as well as other scenarios where users may want to restrict access to certain content.
Proposed Functionality
1) Locking & Unlocking Playlists/Systems
• Users can set a PIN to lock/unlock specific playlists or entire platforms/systems.
• When locked, these playlists/systems will be completely hidden from the UI until the correct PIN is entered.
• A shortcut key or menu option will trigger the PIN entry screen.
• Upon entering the correct PIN, previously hidden content becomes visible.
2) Re-Locking Hidden Content
• The same shortcut key or menu option will bring up an option to hide the content again.
• Once hidden, locked systems and playlists remain inaccessible until unlocked with the PIN again.
3) Additional Features & Considerations
• Configurable settings: Users can enable/disable PIN locking per playlist, platform, or both.
• Timeout feature: Option to auto-hide content after inactivity or upon app restart.
• Separate PINs for different users: If multi-user support is added in the future, different PINs could apply to different profiles.
• Optional visual indicator that locked content exists (e.g., “Hidden Content Available” message).
Use Cases
✅ Parental Controls – Restrict access to mature-rated games or certain platforms for younger players.
✅ Personal Organization – Hide unfinished or work-in-progress playlists without deleting them.
✅ Shared Devices – Prevent guests from accessing certain games or custom categories.
