Allow users to customize which filter categories appear in the left-hand sidebar dropdown menu (e.g., Platform, Playlist, Region, Star Rating, Completed, etc.).
The current sidebar includes a wide range of filter categories, which is great for power users, but the average user typically only interacts with a handful—often just 3 or 4. For example, I mainly use Platform, Playlist, and Favorite, and the rest just add clutter to my workflow. Scrolling past unused filters makes the UI feel more cumbersome than it needs to be.
Introduce a way to customize which items appear in the left sidebar dropdown. This could be a simple solution—no need for a full UI in Settings if that’s too heavy. Allowing users to manually edit an XML or config file would be totally fine for now.
Cleaner, more focused UI tailored to each user’s needs
Reduces visual noise and friction when navigating the app
Appeals to both casual and power users by supporting flexibility
Low-maintenance implementation if done via config or XML
The ability to reorder the dropdown categories
The option to toggle visibility via right-click or a lightweight UI panel in the sidebar
