Introduce an in-app beta testing window that appears when running a beta build. This would highlight the key areas that need community testing, along with the full changelog and a link to the feedback section, ensuring that testers see the most relevant information right away.
Replace or suppress the Welcome Wizard during beta cycles.
Show a dedicated “Beta Info” window that includes:
Highlighted areas we need help testing.
The full changelog for the current beta.
A link to the feedback/bug reporting page.
Only visible when running a beta version.
A user opts into beta updates but doesn’t check the forums. When they update, the beta window pops up:
“Here’s what changed in Beta 1.”
“Please test X, Y, Z.”
This ensures the user knows what to test and where to report, without needing to hunt down forum threads.
Makes beta testing goals highly visible, reducing confusion.
Encourages targeted feedback on new or risky features.
Reduces unrelated reports piling up in beta threads.
Saves time for both testers and developers.
This feature would only apply when the “update to betas” option is enabled. Regular users would not see it.
