Currently, LaunchBox allows you to auto-generate Playlists (e.g., by Genre, Region, etc.) when right-clicking on a Platform. However, if you later add or remove games, these Playlists don’t update automatically. This request proposes an option for LaunchBox to dynamically regenerate auto-generated Playlists whenever the game library changes.
Add a setting to enable auto-regeneration of auto-generated Playlists.
When games are added or removed, LaunchBox would update Playlists accordingly (e.g., new Genres or Regions).
Optionally prompt users for confirmation before creating or removing Playlists.
Could be toggled per-platform or globally.
A user generates Genre Playlists for their SNES library. Later, they add several new SNES ROMs, some with Genres that weren’t previously represented. With auto-regeneration enabled, LaunchBox automatically creates new Genre Playlists for those games.
If a user deletes a game and that Genre no longer exists in the library, LaunchBox could remove the corresponding Playlist automatically.
Keeps auto-generated Playlists up-to-date automatically.
Saves users from manually regenerating Playlists every time they update their libraries.
Ensures new games are immediately discoverable via Playlists.
Improves usability for users with large or frequently updated collections.
