Enable searching and filtering by the Version field within LaunchBox. This would make it easier to locate games tagged with specific version-related information such as Prototype, Beta, Demo, or Unlicensed.
Extend LaunchBox’s search functionality to include the Version field.
When typing into the search bar, LaunchBox should return results where the Version field contains the query text.
Add “Version” to the list of searchable fields shown as examples when clicking the search bar.
Support for both global search and advanced filters (e.g., “version:demo” or “version:beta”).
A user wants to quickly find all games marked as “Prototype” or “Demo.”
They type “prototype” in the search bar, and LaunchBox displays all entries with that text in the Version field.
This makes it much easier to batch-edit or verify release types while organizing their collection.
Makes managing and verifying game metadata far more efficient.
Helps users identify and clean up prototypes, betas, demos, or alternate versions quickly.
Brings consistency to the search experience by including all major metadata fields.
Could be paired with the existing Release Type field once implemented for even better filtering.
Would especially benefit database contributors and users maintaining highly detailed collections.
