Expand LaunchBox’s PC game importing capabilities to include more digital storefronts such as Itch.io, Game Jolt, and other indie or alternative Windows game platforms. This would make it easier to organize, launch, and scrape metadata for a broader range of PC games.
Currently, LaunchBox supports importing games from major platforms like Steam, Epic Games, and GOG. However, many users—especially indie fans—own a growing number of titles from platforms like Itch.io and Game Jolt. These storefronts are not officially supported, requiring users to import games manually and scrape metadata individually, which is time-consuming and prone to errors.
Add official import support for additional storefronts, including but not limited to:
Itch.io
Game Jolt
Legacy DRM-free installers (with improved folder scanning support)
This could include reading local installation manifests or game folders (when available), scraping game titles and metadata from the LaunchBox Games Database or integrated store APIs, and allowing auto-populated metadata and media just like other supported platforms.
Makes it easier for users to manage and launch their full PC game library, regardless of source
Supports indie game collectors and developers who distribute via Itch.io or Game Jolt
Provides better metadata scraping and media downloads for lesser-known titles
